Krab Bass

The Krab Bass is a bass sound patch for Ableton Live originally created by cflip from a sample of Cran's voice. It was first made as part of cflip's song "Singing Kran", and then used again in an extended remix of the short song by jprik. It was then again remixed as "That is it, Binny!" by Kjolt, and used as Rodney's final boss theme in Rodney's Tunnel.

Sound

The sound itself has a bright and plucky timbre, and sounds more like a real bass guitar than a synthesizer. It consists of a single cycle waveform from a sample of Cran's voice, with a 24dB lowpass filter controlled by an envelope with a short decay that gives the sound its plucky character.
